I have a quick post for today, and I have a lot of people have been asking me when the best time to tweet. Timing is very important on getting your content in front of the right people and it involves getting it out at the right time on fast-paced social networks.
A large part of timing your social content will rely on your audience. When they’re online and engaged is usually a good time to post your most exciting stuff! Now if you are advertising sleeping medicine, your time might differ a bit from the norm. But for now we will work off the norm.
But there are some general rules of thumb that you can follow to help guide your timing, especially when you’re just getting started on social media.
Posting to Twitter, for instance, between 1 PM and 3 PM is best for engagement. Traffic on Twitter seems to build starting at 11 AM, while it starts to fade at 3 PM. And posting after 3 PM on Fridays is the absolute worst time you can tweet from the research I have done.
In my next blog I will take a look at the other best and worst times to post to your favorite social networks.
